Checkers is Oroville's most unique restaurant combining the finest contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with the historical setting of the renovated old roadhouse, the Table Mountain Tavern.

Every meal served at Checkers is carefully crafted to bridge the gap between Bay Area dining and Butte County cuisine. Our produce is fresh, our breads, pastas and desserts are all house made and our meats, poultry and fish are USDA Choice. We feel our service is the best in Oroville!

Lunchtime is deal time at Checkers! Our patrons get to enjoy the same attention to taste and detail in our lunch menu as we offer in our dinner menu- at a fraction of the cost. We offer a select variety of entrees, specialty paninis, house made soups and crisp salads- not to mention our fresh baked bread with each entrée.

Dinner at Checkers provides our guests with a very special evening experience. The dining room becomes an elegant salon with white linens, candlelight and soothing background music- all combined to enhance our delicious seasonal menu and the large selection of premium wines to complement your choices.

Checkers has evolved as a youth training program to a fully functioning lunch and dinner destination with area youth running the operation (under careful supervision from our accredited chef, Tim Yarborough).

Please join us for a delicious dining experience! We are open for lunch: Monday ~ Friday 11:30 until 2pm and for dinners Thursdays and Fridays from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
